EAT, SKI, LIVE is about eating locally, living boldly, exploring mightily, and finding ways to discover your balance! That Discover Your Balance part is really important to us.
Life is a juggling act between our work, our family, our friends, and ourselves. Balance comes in when we find meaning and joy in what we achieve and pursue in all four of those important life areas. Stress enters the picture when any or all parts of those areas are out of balance.
Now, not all stress is bad. Good stress can be motivating and provide an energy burst for us to accomplish something. But Bad stress is harmful to our mental and physical well-being when it produces anxiety, makes us feel overwhelmed, unable to cope, and our daily activities and responsibilities become unmanageable. Prolonged stress can lead to mental health issues, behavioral health conditions, and can even manifest in physical health conditions, too.
EAT, SKI, LIVE is committed to ending the stigma of talking about mental health and dedicated to helping people achieve Mental Health Wellness, Mindfulness, and Discover Your Balance! Additionally, EAT, SKI, LIVE is a positive TV series. We promote positivity, optimism, gratitude, and acceptance. In every episode, we will have a Discover Your Balance segment that empowers, encourages, educates, and supports a visual and interactive activity that helps people find balance and promotes mental health wellness.
According to the mental health charity, MIND, each year one in four people in the UK experience a mental health issue, and in the US, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) says one in five Americans live with mental illness, yet only half receive treatment. The World Health Organization also reports that depression and anxiety disorders are the top causes of ill health and disabilities around the world. Service workers within the hospitality and travel industries – an estimated 319M before the COVID-19 Pandemic – are more vulnerable to developing and experiencing mental illness than workers in non-tipped, salaried industries.
